The COVID-19 crisis has had a devastating impact on many industries, with the arts being one of the hardest-hit fields. Despite the financial blow, giving up has never been an option for Synetic. Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili started this company in 2001 as immigrants from Georgia, having fled violence and oppression in their homeland. Against the odds, they created one of the preeminent physical theater companies in the nation and trained hundreds of artists in their unique style. Perseverance is in our DNA.
What started as a dream of two is now an institution that employs 19 full- and part-time staff members, over 200 artists and technicians, and reaches more than 30,000 adults and students every year through its programming. With your support, we can forge ahead to create another two decades’ worth of cutting-edge theatrical experiences. Your donations can help us emerge stronger than ever before by donating today.
