Synetic Theater’s 2026-27 season is one of pure celebration in every sense, marking our 25th anniversary alongside America’s 250th birthday with a production lineup that honors the past while charging boldly ahead.
We begin with a limited, single-weekend remount of our Helen Hayes Award-Winning production of Chaplin’s The Immigrant, running from July 31-August 2, 2026.
The Immigrant will be followed in October by Sleepy Hollow, first produced in 2018 and returning in the fall as the quintessential American ghost story—an ideal way to celebrate this historic moment. Sleepy Hollow will start with a limited run at Olney Theatre Center from October 10-November 2, 2026, before returning to our home base at Thomas Jefferson Theatre from November 6-22.
The season continues with a holiday return of the fairy tale Snow Maiden. A smash hit when it opened in 2022, Snow Maiden is a poignant, enchanting story of magic and friendship. It’s a perfect production for families looking to enjoy the holiday season together, with 11am and 2pm performances from December 4-20 at the Thomas Jefferson Theatre.
In March, Synetic will present a world premiere adaptation of Charlie Chaplin’s 1925 classic film, The Gold Rush. Fresh off the astounding success of last season’s The Immigrant, The Gold Rush will continue Synetic’s exploration of Chaplin’s silent cinema artistry. When we are constantly bombarded with news of get-rich-quick schemes, meme-coins, crypto-currency, and volatile markets, this tale of a fortune hunter in the wilderness offers a timely combination of wit, warmth, and determination—with loads of comedy “to boot.” The Gold Rush will run for only 10 performances, from March 18-28, 2027.
We conclude the season with a newly imagined Pinocchio, brought to life in Synetic’s unmistakable physical style, running 90 minutes. Much like our adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, this production will take a classic story and give it the depth and reinvention that audiences of all ages have come to expect from Synetic, and will run from June 5-27, 2027.
