2026-27: Our 25th Anniversary Season
Synetic Theater’s 2026–27 season is one of pure celebration in every sense, marking our 25th anniversary alongside America’s 250th birthday with a lineup that honors the past while charging boldly ahead.
We begin with a limited, single-weekend remount of our Helen Hayes Award-Winning production of Chaplin’s The Immigrant, running from July 31st-August 2nd, 2026.
The Immigrant will be followed in October by Sleepy Hollow, first produced in 2018 and returning in the fall as the quintessential American ghost story—an ideal way to celebrate this historic moment. Sleepy Hollow will start with a limited run at Olney Theatre Center from October 10th-November 2nd, before returning to our home base at Thomas Jefferson Theatre from November 6th-22nd.
The season continues with a holiday return of the fairy tale Snow Maiden. A smash hit when it opened in 2022, Snow Maiden is a poignant, enchanting story of magic and friendship — clocking in at 45 minutes, with 11am and 2pm performances, it’s perfect for families looking to enjoy the holiday spirit together. Runs December 4th-20th at Thomas Jefferson Theatre.
In March, Synetic will present a world premiere adaptation of Charlie Chaplin’s 1923 classic film, The Gold Rush. Fresh off the astounding success of last season’s The Immigrant, The Gold Rush will continue Synetic’s exploration of silent cinema. When we are bombarded with messages to get rich quick with meme-coins, sports betting, and impossible stock markets, this tale of fortune seeking in the wilderness brings the perfect combination of wit, warmth, and determination, with loads of comedy “to boot.” The Gold Rush will run for only 10 performances from March 18th-28th, 2027.
We conclude with a newly imagined Pinocchio, brought to life in Synetic’s unmistakable physical style, running 90 minutes. Like our Beauty and the Beast, this production will take a classic story and give it the depth and reinvention that audiences of all ages have come to expect from Synetic. Runs from June 5th-27th, 2027.
Five iconic stories, re-envisioned—this is a season about legacy, reinvention, and the joy of telling great tales in new ways. Subscribers receive early access to seating, as well as substantial discounts on our ticket prices.
