Young performers are invited to experience eight months of intensive training in Synetic’s signature physical theater style, building skills in pantomime, clowning, stage combat, acrobatics, and movement for the stage. Throughout the program, students develop their craft alongside experienced Synetic artists and bring their training to life in a fully realized performance on our main stage.
Auditions for both Teens and Pre-Teens will be held August 30 at Theater on the Run in Arlington, VA. Pre-Teen auditions (ages 9–12) will take place from 12–2PM, followed by Teen auditions (ages 13–18) from 2–4PM.
Teen students are trained and directed by Synetic co-founder and multiple Helen Hayes Award-winning actress, choreographer, and director Irina Tsikurishvili. Pre-Teen students are trained and directed by Helen Hayes Award-nominated Synetic veteran actress and choreographer Maryam Najafzada.
What to Expect at Your Audition
Come dressed and ready to move! Auditions are highly active and movement-based, so please wear comfortable all-black clothing that allows you to move freely. Sneakers or dance shoes are recommended.
No prepared monologue is required. Please bring a clear, recent printed photo of yourself for our audition team. This does not need to be a professional headshot a simple printed photo is perfect.
