Accompanist

Refiye Tappan is a pianist, accompanist and teacher from the UK. She gained her undergraduate from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire specializing in Piano Performance, with a post-graduate in Music Education from the University of Reading, UK. She has taught piano to individuals and small groups for over ten years and accompanied many youth choirs in the UK. Her performance highlights include serving as the rehearsal and orchestral pianist for Hampshire Music Service’s massed choir performance at the Royal Albert Hall, London; playing to Pierre Boulez in a masterclass in Birmingham, UK; and giving a performance of Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with the Solent Symphony in Portsmouth, UK. In the DC area, she serves as a freelance accompanist for ABRSM music exams, music theater, opera, youth and adult choirs, and partakes in chamber music.
