Synetic’s Teen Company is a year-round training program dedicated to developing the next generation of artistic performers.
Teen Company members gain confidence, discipline, and the responsibility to challenge themselves and their peers. Artists’ study and train in the infused theatrical methodologies of Growtowski, Lecoq, Stanislavski, and Chekhov through the Synetic-style. The teen cast work closely with professional directors, fight and movement choreographers, and as part of their mentorship receive special coaching on character and technique from senior Synetic company members.
By mid-April, the teen ensemble has a fully staged, full-length production, to go along with an experience of a lifetime. Many teen program alumni go on to appear in main stage productions!
About the production: Following in the footsteps of our main stage company, the next generation of Synetic stars will perform “The Taming of the Shrew,” March 23>> April 1, 2017. In this comedic and electrifying piece, set amongst the extravagance of Hollywood and inspired by paparazzi darlings like the Kardashians, a temperamental duo goes toe to toe in one of Shakespeare’s earliest romantic comedies.
