Rentals

For both private and public events, Synetic Theater offers a variety of spaces to meet your needs in the heart of metropolitan Crystal City, VA (just outside of Washington, DC). Corporate meetings, staff events, musical performances, comedy nights, talent shows, and recitals are welcome to use our venue!

Our space hosts 350 audience members, has accessible parking and is conveniently located next to the Crystal City Metro (Blue and Yellow lines).

Rental Spaces Available

Crystal City Theater:
350 seat Theater
1300 sq ft Stage with adjacent loading dock
1,172 sq ft Lobby (Concessions available for Rental use)
Backstage (Green Room, 3 Dressing Rooms)

Studio Violet:

Two Rehearsal Spaces – Factory and Mill

The Factory:  

  • 1624 square feet, windowed space. In view of the public.  
  • Mirrors along one wall 
  • Marley dance floor (carpet covering available upon request) [note: high heeled shoes prohibited]
  • Two tables, chairs
  • Temperature controlled room 

The Mill:

  • 541 square feet, windowless space 
  • Mirrors along one wall 
  • Equipped with firm, foam core tumble mats

Spaces available when there are no productions rehearsing or running.

Crystal City Theater:

$2,000 for full day (4-8 hours)
$1,100 for half-day (up to 4 hours)

Studio Violet:

The Factory – $85.00/hour

The Mill – $50.00/hour

Venue Manager (required) $25/hour, 4 (four) hour minimum.

*non-profits can inquire for a discounted rate providing proof of IRS tax-exemption.

Additional Rates:

Staff

Facilities Manager – $25.00 per hour
Front of House Staff – $25.00 per hour
Technical Crew – $30.00 per hour
  • Synetic does not provide Front of House staff or use of its Box Office for any event.
  • A Facilities Manager must be present for all events and additional staff may be required depending on the nature of the event.
  • Licensing of the theater typically requires a minimum of two staff members. Licensing of the theater including the Backstage area typically requires a minimum of three staff members.
  • The amount of staffing required for each licensing will be determined at the sole discretion of Synetic Theater and will be outlined in the License Agreement. Staff is paid for a minimum of 4 (four) hours.
  • Finally, staff schedules will be set to cover any time required for rental load-in and load-out (strike).

Cleaning

Theater, Lobby & Backstage Used – $170.00
Theater, Lobby & Backstage Used; Food served at rental event. – $300.00

Note: Synetic offers the use of its concessions bar to those interested in serving food and drinks in the lobby, however Renters are required to be VA ABC license holders and must provide their own staff.
